Lagos Government Seals Ogba Mall, Ajah Market For Illegal Waste Disposal

The Lagos State Government in collaboration with the Lagos State Waste Management Authority, and the State Task Force on Environmental Sanitation and Special Offences on Sunday sealed the Ogba City Mall in Ikeja, and Ajah Market, in Eti-Osa, Lagos State.

This was disclosed in a statement by the Director of Public Affairs, Lagos State Waste Management Authority, Folashade Kadiri, on Sunday.

According to the statement, the enforcement team also cleared shanties and buildings of illegal traders along the Ajah Jubilee Bridge and BRT corridor.

The Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, commented on the development stating that the action was a continuation of the administration’s campaign against filth and careless trash disposal by marketplaces and commercial establishments around the state.

The Managing Director of the Lagos State Waste Management Authority, Muyiwa Gbadegesin, advised traders and corporate stakeholders to take action to maintain a clean and healthy workplace.
