The Rich and Proud
Category: City Pastor's Teachings
“I have been the Lord your God ever since I brought you out of
Egypt. You must acknowledge no God but me, for there is no other savior. I
took care of you in the wilderness, in that dry and thirsty land. But when you
had eaten and were satisfied, you became proud and forgot me. So now I will
attack you like a lion, like a leopard that lurks along the road. Like a bear
whose cubs have been taken away, I will tear out your heart. I will devour you
like a hungry lioness and mangle you like a wild animal” Hosea 13: 4-8
Most people, particularly when they have become very rich forget their humble
beginnings when they had nothing and called upon the name of the Lord every
day to rescue them from poverty and provide for their needs. But as soon as
they become rich, they forget their vows to God; they become very proud,
spending their monies on the things of this world, committing all kinds of
immoralities that are not pleasant to the Lord Almighty.
God says
because of these behaviors, unpleasant attitudes to the Lord Almighty, He will
attack them like a lion, like a leopard that lurks along the road. When a
human is attacked by any of these wild animals mentioned, how can they survive
it? Can you fight a lion? Can you defend yourself against a leopard? I don’t
see the chances for survival.

God’s words are true and it is alive forever, if you find yourself in
this category of people, all you need to do is quickly repent of your sins,
beg God for forgiveness, so He will not take those riches away from you.
Because sometimes, what the Bible just described Hosea 13: 4-8 may not
necessarily be the taken of your life as you may think, it could mean; you
will lost all those possessions that you had that made you become proud and
insolent towards the Lord Almighty!
Repent now; ask God for the
forgiveness of your sins, I pray that God Almighty forgive you today as you
sincerely ask Him for pardon.
