Today's Motivational: “Learn as if you will live forever, live like you will die tomorrow.” — Mahatma Gandhi

While some people are busy straining their brains over night, learning new things and the trends in the world, others are busy sleeping, clubbing, womanizing and doing all sorts of ungodly things unimaginable!

Mahatma Gandhi who today's quote is credited to is widely recognized as one of the twentieth century's greatest political and spiritual leaders. Honored in India as the father of the nation.

In one of his thoughts, he advised people to learn like they would live forever, what does that even mean? When you learn like you are going to live forever, it means that, you want to know "everything about everything", you want to know about health, about wealth, about technology, about politics, religion and everything positive in life.

Why? Because you want to know about everything! Very simple, why would you even want to bother to know about everything, its simple, because you want to be ahead in everything. That doesn't mean that you want to be a jack of all trade, no- but you want to be so knowledgeable in everything, so much that when you are anywhere, you will not feel out of place.

If people are discussing about some issues in religion, you may not necessarily have to be a part of the discussion, but you don't want to be a novice, such that you won't even have an idea of what is being discussed.

It should be the same way for every other aspect of your life, technology, politics, current affairs, name it. You want to be on top of all matters and affairs as long as they are positive.

Why is this necessary? It is necessary because when you are exposed to learning, it will be difficult for you to be cheated, or shortchanged in any aspect of your life.

Now that is about learning, lets now look at the second aspect of the statement- living like you will die tomorrow! That's huge!

A lot of us, fail to realize that this place we are today is not a permanent place for us, if we realize that we are not in our permanent abode, most of us will be much more cautious about the way we live our lives.

Take for instance, if you are to, by any chance have the knowledge that you will die tomorrow, tell me the truth, what will you do?

You are likely going to stop many of the things that you do currently, particularly the negative ones, if by any chance you have a hint that you will die tomorrow, and you are someone who steals, lies, cheat, kill and do all sorts of evil, there is almost an hundred percent chance that you will stop all those bad things that you do.

This is why this great man, gave this quote way back, advising people to live and behave like they are going to die tomorrow.

If you will die tomorrow and you know, what will you do?

You will probably give more to the needy, care more for the aged, be more friendly, do more than you are doing in regards to the things of God, you will probably be nicer to your neighbors than you are currently doing.

Lets round it all together, Learn as if you will live forever, live like you will die tomorrow; just keep learning new things every day, be good every day, because you never can tell when that death bell is going to ring.

TASK: Learn something new today, give more and care more today.
