A 37-year-old security guard at Prestige International College in Gwale Local Government Area of Kano State, identified as Nuradeen Shehu, has reportedly taken his own life.
On Tuesday, the State Police Commissioner, Hussaini Gumel, informed the press that the incident occurred within one of the classrooms at the college.
On January 28, around 10:30 am, Abdullahi Abdulsalam from Rijiyar Zaki reported that Nuradeen Shehu, a security guard at the college, was discovered lifeless in a classroom, having hanged himself with a rope.

A team of policemen from Gwale Division, led by the DPO, responded to the scene. They forcibly opened the locked door, cut the rope, and swiftly transported the body to Murtala Mohammed General Hospital. A medical doctor at the hospital confirmed his demise.
The family of the deceased received the body for burial. It was revealed that the deceased took his own life upon learning that his ex-wife had remarried.
Commissioner Gumel stated that a thorough investigation into the incident would be conducted by the police.
