Some Bible Interpretations Many Don’t Know

1. God blesses those who hunger and thirst for justice, for they will be satisfied. (Matthew 5:6)

Now you have to understand this; it is not a bad defending the rights of others, protecting other people is not a bad cause, though some people may misinterpret your cause; a lot people are of the mindset that it is not your business to defend others, they will say, “What is your own business there?” In fact some people even see you defending yourself as bad. They want you to just keep shut when you are cheated, you shouldn’t ask for justice.

Yet the Bible says you are blessed when you hunger and thirst for justice because you will be satisfied.

To be satisfied means you will get justice, it means you will get the desired results from that petition.

2. God blesses those who are merciful, for they will be shown mercy. (Matthew 5: 7)

When you are merciful, you are kind, and you will receive kindness, when you are merciful, you are quick to forgive, and you will receive forgiveness, when you are merciful, you are compassionate, and you will receive compassion.

Let me give you an illustration; maybe you are this kind of person people always come to you for help and assistance like money, valuable advises, counseling, and any form of help, every time they come to you, you always give, you always help, you don’t care whether it’s your last penny, you don’t care whether anyone else has helped you, you always have mercy on others even when it is not convenient for you. Sometimes you may even get hurt for the help you rendered, for the mercy you showed, yet you still help, yet you still showed mercy. It is you the Bible is referring to here.

Let me authoritatively inform you today, your mercy is not wasted because the Bible says, blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.

One day you will be stranded on a lonely road, it could be a broken down vehicle, it may even be in another different situation, may you need an urgent financial assistance, or you have a challenge that you need someone to advice you, and from nowhere, from someone you don’t know from anywhere, you will receive mercy.

Your vehicle might breakdown on a dangerous road full of armed robbers, rapists, and you are in danger of attack, and someone from nowhere just stops by to give you a help!

You will be wondering what you did that made the person to show you such kindness, it’s your past sowing… whatever a man sows he shall reap, good or bad!

You have been sowing good and now the Bible says, you will reap good, it says, because you are merciful are you are blessed, and because you are blessed, you will also receive mercy.

3. God blesses those whose hearts are pure, for they will see God. (Matthew 5: 8)

Now; those whose hearts are pure can be called the “holy ones”; people who don’t deliberately commit sins, people who know what is right from what is wrong and stays clear from those things that are impure.

I’m talking about people who know that cheating is bad, and such they refuse to cheat; I’m talking of a man who has all the chance to commit adultery but chose the path of honor.

Their blessing is unique- their blessing is seeing God. They will see God, not everyone will see God because God is holy, God is pure, God distastes anything that is not holy, and God dislikes anything that is not pure. But He is attracted to Holy things; he is drawn to things that are pure. Therefore anyone who is pure in heart, not necessarily body purity, but a pure soul will see God! Anyone who is corrupt, unclean cannot get close to God.

If you see God, you will have mercy, if you see God, you will have peace, if you see God, you will have everything.

Let’s take a literal example of an earthly president; we all know that God is the president of the entire universe; Heaven and Earth.

People always seek opportunities to meet the president, a lot of time they don’t even get to see the president, seeing the president’s Adviser alone some time, changes their life, imagine having the opportunity of meeting the president himself.

Now imagine further more seeing the president of the entire universe, your life can never be the same. And here, the Bible is saying, those whose hearts are pure, will see God!

Wow! That is great, that is awesome, and that is marvelous!

4. God blesses those who work for peace they will be called the children of God. (Matthew 5: 9)

Who is a child of God? Before we can answer that question, let us first look at who a child is!

As a child you belong to a family that means if for instance your father is a wealthy man, you have access to wealth, because you are a rich man’s child. In fact people refer to you as “that rich man’s child”. If for instance your father is Prophet TB Joshua, you cannot be hungry, you cannot be poor; you cannot lack things that money can buy, because your father is a wealthy man.

Now imagine being a child of God- God owns everything, therefore you can never lack anything, you will have wealth in abundance, peace in abundance, good health and abundant resources.

As a peacemaker, you are the one always settling family disputes, you are the one always ensuring that people are happy, you always ensure there is no malice, and then you are peaceful. The bible says, because you work for peace you are a child of God; I now tell you that as a child of God, you have direct access to God.

For instance, do you take permission to see your father? No, you meet your father and make your requests known to him and you have it. Peaceful people are children of God and they therefore have direct access to God!

5. God blesses those who are persecuted for doing right, for the kingdom of heaven is theirs (Matthew 5: 10)

Now the difference between number 5 and the previous one is this; a man can have children and decide not to leave any inheritance to one, for many reasons; it could be that he is bad, or a prodigal son. But most often he leaves inheritance for those he loves, those who have served him faithfully.

Now those people who are persecuted for doing right will inherit the kingdom of God, because they have been treated badly and unjustly, they will therefore be rewarded by God for their persecution. Not even because they were supposed to be there by birthright, but because they have been maltreated, they have been cheated, they have been oppressed, all just because they have chose to do what is right, instead of being corrupt, they are righteous.

The bible in Matthew 5:11-12, further stated that “God blesses you when people mock you and persecute you and lie about you and say all sorts of evil things against you because you are my followers. Be happy about it! Be very glad! For a great reward awaits you in heaven. And remember, the ancient prophets were persecuted in the same way.

So never regret serving God because of what people have said to you, ignore them, continue doing what is right, the kingdom of heaven is yours!

Have you ever pictured heaven? There is no where on earth, the most beautiful hotel in the world cannot be compared to the least house in heaven because they are created with the words of mouth, not by labor.

6. “In the same way let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly father” Matthew 5:16

So when you are doing good you are not just doing it to please yourself alone, or to please your family, you are doing it so that people can praise God because of the good deeds you are doing.

When in the multitude a lot of people are bad but you chose to be good, there are still people who will because of you change from their bad ways and in turn serve God and praise Him!

7. Don’t misunderstand why I have come. I did not come to abolish the Law of Moses (that means the Law of Moses still holds) or the writings of the prophets are still has important as the teachings in the New Testament. No, I came to accomplish their purpose. (so Jesus actually came to fulfill or complete the laws laid down by God through Moses and other prophets of the old (Matthew 5:17)

It’s like this, when you are in Junior Secondary school, you learn Integrated Science, which contained so many subjects then in senior secondary school the subject is broken to Biology, Chemistry and Introductory Technology to Physics, and in Higher Institution, you study general course in first degree, and specialize in Masters.

Jesus is the Master, he knows all solutions to the problems some of the prophets couldn’t solve, that is why he came to give a Mastered solution to all the elementary taught by the prophets. Does that mean that those junior secondary school subjects will be stopped?- No! They are preparatory for the senior class subjects and even for the advanced Masters degree. Just like the prophets came to prepare the people in advance for Christ. Therefore the old testament teachings can never be discarded, prophets, men of God and Christians will only continue to build on the foundations laid by these prophets and what Christ himself came with. But they can never be abolished.

8. “I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not even the smallest detail of God’s law will disappear until it’s purpose as achieved” Matthew 5:18

So if you are still thinking the world will never come to end, have a rethink, if you think you will go unpunished when you sin, have a rethink, if you dishonor the commandments of God, have a rethink, because none of them will go unaccomplished.

As already explained in 7, the word of God, the words of the prophets, the words of Jesus will never disappear until their purpose have been fulfilled.
