Why You Are Suffering

Nations, organizations, churches, and individuals are suffering because of their unfaithfulness to God Almighty. A lot of people believe that they can live their lives the way they want and yet get the grace and mercy of the Lord. I tell you the truth, it is a lie. If you refuse to change your ways and repent of your sins you cannot find favor from God.

Maybe you can get it from the devil, but not from God. You can only get favor from God if you truly change from your sinful ways. Lots of pastors and teachers lie to their congregation all because of the financial gains they get from them. Some pastors take tithes from prostitutes and make those prostitutes believe that what they are doing is well.

I have had cause to preach to prostitutes who makes me understand that their priests tells them it is okay as long as they come to church and pray to God and give their offerings and tithes. I am telling you I have seen a prostitute who is a Sanctuary keeper in the house of God!

“Hear the word of the Lord, O people of Israel (people of Nigeria, people of this world). The Lord has brought charges against you saying: “There is no faithfulness, no kindness, no knowledge of God in your land” Hosea 4:1

And yet these people go to church every Sunday, every day. In fact some even sing in the choir, some are even pastors and ministers.

“You make vows and break them; you kill and steal and commit adultery. There is violence everywhere- one murder after another. That is why your land is in mourning, and everyone is wasting away. Even the wild animals, the birds of the sky, and the fish of the sea are disappearing” Hosea 4: 2-3

You keep wondering why there are so many problems in the country, why you are suffering stagnation. It is nothing more than your unrepentant lifestyle.

“Don’t point your finger at someone else and try to pass the blame! My complaint, you priests, is with you. So you will stumble in broad day light, and your false prophets will fall with you in the night.” Hosea 4:4-5A
God is blaming the priests, pastors, prophets who teach false doctrines for the problems in the land. He says the priests and pastors have refused to teach the people the truth and that is why most people even in their sins believe they are doing the right things. It is a pity!

“My people are being destroyed because they don’t know me. Since you priests (pastors, teachers, prophets) refuse to know me, I refuse to recognize you as my priests. Since you have forgotten the laws of your God, I will forget to bless your children” Hosea 4: 6

Even God knows the fact that there are too many pastors, priests and prophets and yet there is more and more sins every day. He said, “The more priests there are, the more they sin against me. They have exchanged the glory of God for shame of idols” Hosea 4: 7
“When the people bring their sin offerings, the priests get fed. So the priests are glad when the people sin! And what the priests do, the people also do.’ So now I will punish both priests and people for their wicked deeds. They will eat and still be hungry. They will play the prostitute and gain nothing from it, for they have deserted the Lord to worship other gods. “Wine has robbed my people of understanding” Hosea 4: 8-11

Yes very true, pastors are happy when offering are brought to the church. Though it is true that we no longer give sin offerings because Jesus has paid that ransom on the cross of Calvary but we still give offerings at churches.

Murderers, prostitutes, liars all give offerings and they ask the priest to pray to God for them for the forgiveness of their sins. Politicians kill other politicians, loot the nation dry and yet take offerings and gifts to churches and ask pastors to pray to God for their success and these false and fake pastors rather than tell these lying politicians the truth will ask them to kneel down and pray for them. What a pity!

Others who don’t go to the house of God for solutions to their problems go to idols to seek answers to their problems. Idols that have no eyes, no ears. “They ask a piece of wood for advice! They think a stick can tell them the future! Longing after idols has made them foolish. They have played the prostitute, serving other gods and deserting their God” Hosea 4: 12

“They offer sacrifices to idols on the mountaintops. They go up into the hills to burn incense in the pleasant shade of oaks, poplars, and terebinth trees. “That is why your daughters turn to prostitution, and your daughters-in-law commit adultery” Hosea 4: 13

Oh, you wonder why your daughters have gone into prostitution and adultery and don’t even see anything wrong in what they are doing; it’s not far-fetched. It’s because of your idolatry, your sinful nature.

“But why should I punish them for their prostitution and adultery? For your men are doing the same thing, sinning with whores and shrine prostitutes. O foolish people! You refuse to understand, so you will be destroyed” Hosea 4: 14
“When the rulers of Israel (Nigeria) finish their drinking, off they go to find some prostitutes. They love shame more than honor. So a mighty wind will sweep them away. Their sacrifices to idols will bring them shame” Hosea 4: 18-19

Stop your sinful living now. The only way out of your tribulations is to repent of your sins and accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal savior.
