Leader Killed During Clash Over Garage Control in Ilorin

One person was reportedly killed on Tuesday during a clash between two rival groups over the control of a motorcycle/tricycle garage at Ganmo area, Ilorin, Kwara State.




Daily trust correspondent gathered that the clash was triggered by two rival groups headed by Taye Oloshe and late Albarka over the control of the motorcycle/tricycle park in the area.


The leader of one of the rival groups, Albarka was killed during the clash that ensued between his group and the one headed by Taye Oloshe.

A source, who spoke to Daily Trust on the clash said “Late Albarka was cut with a machete which led to his death”, the source said.

Leader of the other rival group, Oloshe also reportedly sustained machete cuts. He is said to be at the intensive care unit of the general hospital, Oke- Oyi, Ilorin East.

A source in the area said the clash was earlier averted on Monday when police arrested some members of the groups while planning a clash.

Confirming the incident, the spokesman of the Kwara state police command, DSP Ajayi Okasanmi, said the command has made arrests.

He confirmed that one person was confirmed dead while several others were injured.

Okasanmi said investigation into the crisis was on going.
