JUST IN: Police Storm Ketu Market For Demolition Exercise

Information just reaching us is indicating that there is a heavy presence of security operatives at the popular Ketu Market in Lagos.

Unconfirmed reports have it that their presence might not be unconnected to plans by the state government to carry out a demolition exercise there.

According to an eye-witness who was in the market earlier today, "Ketu market in chaos, ran for my dear life, tear gas and gun shots everywhere. Unfortunately my purchase is still in d market. Mopol has locked up, they said government wants to collect the market from them like they did at mile 12 some years back."

She added that some "area boys" are trying to stop the demolition exercise, "I needed to leave that vicinity. The area boys too has joined, they have carried gun to return d fire"
