Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo

Matthew Ashimolowo was born as Ahmed Ashimolowo on March 17, 1952 in Kaduna, Nigeria to Muslim parents. He is the 4th out of 5 children, a native of Odo-Ewu near Ife in Osun State of Nigeria. He is the Senior Pastor of Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC), London.

Pastor Matthew as popularly called is a Motivational Speaker and a successful Businessman; he serves on the board of Premier Radio Station which is UK’s Premier Christian Radio Station.
He converted to Christianity from Islam at the age of 22 after the death of his father, a military officer who died during the Biafra War.


Matthew who grew up in Kaduna and other parts of Nigeria due to his father’s military job, relocated to Lagos after his father died and enrolled in a Bible School. After graduating from the Bible School he became an Assistant Pastor with Four Square Gospel Church, he later relocated to United Kingdom, where he started his ministry.

He founded the Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC) in 1992 with 11 members in a school hall in North London. KICC now has over 12, 000 members with over 20,000 worshipers at four services every Sunday.

Ashimolowo is a dynamic preacher of over 30 years, a successful leader and a prolific author with more than 60 published books.
