Generator Mechanic Commits Suicide after Feasting with Friends in Ogba-Lagos

A young generator repairer, Tunji Opadiran has committed suicide by hanging himself with rope tied to the hook of a ceiling fan, this evening, in his one room apartment at 8 Morounfolu Street, Akilo in Ogba area of Lagos State.

According to an eye-witness account, Tunji, popularly known as Jeje, earlier this evening had taken some his friends on a jolly-outing, ensuring that every one of them had whatever they wanted.

The generator repairer whose mother is a food seller around Cele bus stop at Akilo should no sign of what he planned doing.

According to a close source Jeje’s friends did not suspect that he was going to commit suicide. He had left them at the bar after and went to his room at 8 Morounfolu Street in Akilo, where he locked himself inside and committed suicide by hanging himself with rope to the hook of the ceiling fan in his room.

Some of his neighbors we spoke with said that Jeje would normally lock himself inside most afternoon and sleep for several hours before night fall, so it was assumed that he was sleeping until one of his friends checked and met the door locked.

After calling out for him for a while, the door to the room was broken down from where the body of the victim was found hanging from the ceiling of the room.

As at the time of this report, the body of the deceased is still lying in the room while sympathizers and onlookers have gathered around the compound.

The cause of the suicide is unknown.
