First Year Anniversary Speech by Kano State Gov, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje
The first year anniversary speech of the governor of Kano State on May 29th.
The governor during his speech delivered at the Government House Kano, Coronation Hall highlighted the achievements of the state government during the one year in office.
The governor restated some of his promises made during his inauguration into office on May 29th 2015 to include:
Completion of ongoing projects of the previous administration
Free Compulsory Primary Education
Re-invigoration of the State Civil Service
Due Process Bureau and Anti-Corruption
Kano Master Plan
Housing
Regional Water Scheme
Agriculture
Local Government Harmonization
Health services and War Against Drug Abuse
Internally generated Revenue
Security
The governor stated that part of the achievements of his administration in one year includes:
The reduction of ministries from 19 to 14 for service delivery and efficient utilization of resources
He said the State government introduced Promotional Examinations for Civil servants from GL07 to GL15 to ensure a merit based progression.
Also in areas of employment, the state government employed 1,857 teachers were recruited under the K5SSMB with monthly salaries of N79, 980,966.74
874 and 1036 others were employed under the Health Personnel and Corporate Security Guards with N60,759,980.94 and N22,737,120.28 salaries respectively.
Part of the administration’s achievements in one-year also includes a complete arrangement to operate Treasury Single Account (TSA) by the State government.
