Osinbajo’s Protocol Officers Clash with Organisers at Ooni’s Burial

Category: Nigerian National News

Protocol officers of the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo and organisers of the Inter-Religious Farewell Service in honour of the late Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuade, clashed on Friday over allocation of tables to dignitaries.

At the make-shift hall, where the ceremony is to take place, a leader of the VP protocol team picked a front table for his principal, but the organisers told him that the table was already designated for the Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola and other officials in the state.

It led to a heated argument as Osinbajo’s advance team insisted on reserving the table for the Vice President.
It took the intervention of Ife elders and prominent palace figures to settle the argument as the table was eventually left for the governor.
