Nigeria’s Inspector-General of Police, Solomon E. Arase has redeployed the commissioners of police in Lagos and Ogun state and announced their replacements.

Kayode Aderanti, who has been commissioner in Lagos has been redeployed to the Force Headquarters in Abuja, to become Commissioner of police in charge of operations.

Appointed to replace him is Ajani Fatai Owoseni.


Chris Ezike has been named as the new commissioner of police in Rivers State and Abdulmajid Ali, the new man in Ogun. 

Ali replaces Valentine Ntomchukwu, who assumed duties in Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital in February this year, replacing Ikemefuna Okoye.

Ezike, who has reported for duty in Port Harcourt, replaces Dan Bature in Rivers.

Bature according to the new posting issued today by CSP Abayomi Shogunle, deputy Force PRO, is now the CP Intelligence FCIID, Abuja.

Valentine Ntomchukwu, the former police boss in Ogun state has also been posted to the logistics and Supply department at the Police Headquarters in Abuja.


Other commissioners affected by the new postings are Hyelasinda Kimo Musa, E.J. Ebine and Ogbusua Aja Oleh.

Musa is now the CP, Federal Special anti-robbery squad, Abuja and Ibine in Charge of Ports Authority, Eastern Command and Oleh, Provost Federal Headquarters Abuja.

According to Arase, the postings were informed by the need “to inject fresh ideas in the security architecture in Lagos, Rivers and Ogun States, and some other Force Headquarters Formations”.
