Nollywood Actor Baba Suwe Mourns The Death of His Lawyer Bamidele Aturu

Nollywood comic actor, Babatunde Omidina, a.k.a Baba Suwe, is saddened by the death of his lawyer, Bamidele Aturu. Baba Suwe has reportedly broke down in tears on hearing the news.

Apparently, the actor, who was on the location of a movie set in Ibadan when the news broke out, could not control his emotions, Movie Moments report.

It was gathered that baba suwe returned to Lagos on Thursday, July 10, 2014, after completing his scenes in the movie to commiserate and pay his condolence to the family of the late Aturu.

The human rights lawyer and activist Bamidele Aturu died on Wednesday, July 9 in a Lagos hospital after battling an undisclosed illness.

It would be recalled in October 2011 baba suwe was arrested by the NDLEA at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, on his way to Paris, France, after testing positive to drug ingestion.

Bamidele Aturu was Baba Suwe’s counsel, who helped the actor drag the NDLEA to court, suing for N100m damages for the unlawful detention which led to public humiliation.

Aturu was well-known for picking up and fighting for human rights causes. He was a founding member of Democratic Alternative, a political group committed to pursuing deep-rooted democratic principles.

He reportedly turned down his nomination as a member of the on-going National Confab, explaining that the conference was designed to achieve nothing.
