Kogi/Anambra Oil Tussle: Comrade Ismaila Yusuf Urges FG to Resolve Dispute Urgently

Concerned about the spate of attacks on Odeke community in Ibaji local government area of Kogi State by Aguleri people from Anambra State, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain from Ankpa, Comrade Ismaila Yusuf Atumeyi has called on Federal government to move in quickly and resolve the lingering dispute over oil well while urging the good people of Odeke to remain calm.

Comrade Atumeyi, who is aspiring to represent Ankpa II constituency at the State House of Assembly, cried out that Aguleri people are killing Igala men and women in a bid to claim the oil-rich land that rightfully belong to Igalaland.

“As an Igala man, I know without an iota of doubt that the land belongs to Odeke in Ibaji LGA. No one can take our land away from us. As a frontline PDP member, I call on President Goodluck Jonathan to step into this issue and resolve the dispute as soon as possible to forestall further mayhem”, he said.

“I urge Mr President to openly declare Kogi State as an oil producing state giving the ominous fact that the oil-rich area belongs to Kogi State”

Comrade Ismaila noted that the urgent resolution of the imbroglio will put an end to the current spate of bloodshed and destruction of properties.
