Lagos Pastor Arraigned in Court For Damaging Neighbour’s Car

A 44-year-old pastor, Daniel Okogie was arraigned before an Oshodi Magistrates’ Court in Lagos on Monday, for allegedly damaging his neighbour’s car over parking space.

According to the prosecutor, Cpl. Kehinde Olatunde, the accused who lives at No. 55, Olaiya St., Oshodi claimed to be the caretaker of the compound and had instructed the complainant, Mr Vincent Okeke not to park his car inside the compound but outside the gate as only his (pastor) car would be parked inside.

He also threatened Mr Okoye that he’d damage his car anytime he saw it parked inside the compound but the complainant ignored his instruction and did otherwise.

On that fateful day, April 19, the Pastor woke up in the morning and broke the windshield of Mr Okoye’s Mercedes Benz car for defiling his instruction.

Pastor Okogie who is facing a two-count charge of breach of peace and unlawful damage, however pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Presiding over the matter, the Magistrate, Mr Akeem Fashola, granted the accused bail in the sum of N50, 000, with one surety in like sum and adjourned the case till May 15, for mention.
