400-Level OAU Law Student Commits Suicide After His Lover Broke Up With Him

Reports of a final year law student of Obafemi Awolowo University, OAU, Ile-Ife committing suicide over depression went viral yesterday but there are new reports claiming he committed suicide after his lover broke up with him.

The 400-level student, Oladipo Ige was said to have killed himself by allegedly ingesting some substance later discovered to be poison at his residence, at Asherifa area of the state off campus with a suicide note that read: “Father, while reading this message, I would have been gone”.

Dipo, who was a member of the Christ Apostolic Church Fellowship on campus had threatened to take his life after his lover who had been responsible for his finances in school for over eight months of the relationship decided to end their relationship and remained adamant about her decision.

The lady, also a member of the same fellowship, was said to have broken up with Dipo because of his poor background and she could no longer cope with him.

According to a source, this development was said to have subjected Dipo to emotional trauma.

Some of Dipo's colleagues who described him as a brilliant student and someone who lived a lonely life were still shocked about his mysterious sudden death.
