Ronaldo Threatens To Quit Manchester United If They Fail To Qualify For Champions League

Category: Sports News

Cristiano Ronaldo’s camp have reportedly informed Manchester United that the forward will look to leave in the summer should they fail to secure Champions League qualification for next season.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner rejoined the Old Trafford giants on a two-year contract last August in the hope of steering the club back to its former glory, 12 years on from his initial departure for Real Madrid.

And while Ronaldo, 36, has shone in front of goal, netting 14 times in 20 appearances, the Red Devils find themselves languishing down in seventh place in the Premier League table, with results and performances continuing to disappoint under interim boss Ralf Rangnick.

According to The Sun, Ronaldo’s representatives voiced their concerns during a recent round of discussions with Richard Arnold, who is set to take over the reins from Ed Woodward as United’s chief executive imminently.

The report claims Ronaldo’s team have grown increasingly worried about the club’s direction – or lack of – this term given the iconic forward is desperate to end his glittering playing career on a high.
