Kanye West Has Mental Problem- Wendy Williams

TV personality Wendy Williams has spoken out about Kanye West's recent bizarre behavior by saying he is 'in the throes' and 'not well'.

In one particularly eventful week at the end of April and beginning of May the rapper made a series of controversial comments on Twitter and in a TMZ interview - including calling slavery a 'choice' and professing his love for Donald Trump.

Wendy responded to the events on her daytime talk show saying: 'Kanye West has really lost his mind'.

She then launched into a longwinded rant about the rapper's 'irresponsible' decisions and his physical appearance, which was criticized by many as being cruel and unnecessary.

This weekend the TV host appeared at a Vulture Festival event called 'Ask Wendy Williams' in which she said she feels 'very, very bad' for Kanye, who she believes is suffering from serious mental health problems.

During the set at the festival by New York Magazine, Las Culturistas hosts Matt Rogers and Bowen Yang asked Wendy to play a game called 'How She Doin', in which she shared her thoughts on popular celebrities including Meghan Markle and Mariah Carey.

When asked about Kanye, Williams got serious, saying the rapper is 'in the throes'.

'I think that mental illness is something that is so real,' she said.

'As long as I'm here and you're listening, I will tell you I feel very, very bad for Kanye West. His father is nowhere in the picture, his mom passed away trying to beautify herself to be a stage mom.

'I'm not going to talk about his wife, his family, or anything like that. But what I will tell you is that he's not well.

'That is the very foundation of everything he says. He's not well. I wish him well.'

She also commented on Kanye's recent statements about being hospitalized due to an opioid addiction in 2016 - a particularly sensitive topic for Wendy, who has struggled with addiction herself.

'The war on drugs is very, very real, and the war on helping people with mental illness is very, very real,' she said.

'People think: "Oh, cocaine, heroin, weed, and stuff." No - people popping those pills, that's affecting millions of Americans.'
