Youths Leader Calls For Probe of Yahaya Bello Over Double Registration Allegation

The National Coordinator, PDP Youth Frontier Mr. Usman Okai Austin has urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) not to throw away the allegation of double registration against Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello.
Okai in a statement claimed there was a plan to muddle up the reports due for release by the panel set up by INEC to investigate "the clear constitutional ‎breach" involving the Kogi State governor.


He warned the electoral body of any attempt to compromise in its investigation, stressing that such action could portends great dangers to democracy.
While noting that a statement from Bello's spokesman Kingsley Fanwo had explained the reasons for the governor's double registration, Okai stressed that any attempt to say the incident never happened will not be accepted.
He said: "Even INEC issued multiple press statements via the Director, voters education and Registration, Osaze Iyamu affirming the illegality orchestrated by kogi governor to muddle up the electoral process in all its sites and media outlets, how comes the sudden 'about turn?'"
