Three Found Dead In Apartment in Benin



Three persons, two females and a male, have been found dead in an apartment in Benin City, Edo State. A report alleged that the three were suffocated to death by generator fume at an apartment located in Agharese Adu Street, off Sapele Road in Benin.

However, some people alleged that the three might have died of poisoning as they were said to have returned from a party the previous night.

The deceased were reportedly found dead by two other occupants of the flat at about 3:00a.m. on Sunday.

It was gathered that the two females were visitors of the deceased who was found naked in his room.

One of the deceased female was found dead lying in the lobby while the second was discovered dead with footwear in a room in the apartment.

As of press time, the bodies of the deceased had been taken to the morgue by policemen from Etete Police Division in Benin.

A generator was found in the kitchen of the apartment.

Spokesman for the Edo State Police Command, DSP Moses Nkombe, confirmed the incident and said investigation would unravel what caused the deaths.

“Until doctors’ report comes out, it is like they died of generator fume.

“The flat was occupied by three guys. The two senior ones went to a party and when they returned, they saw that the door was locked. They had to raise the alarm,” he said.
