Pictures: Kano State Governor Visits Watari Water Treatment Plant

Kano State governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje on Saturday visited the Watari Water Treatment Plant at Bagwai Local Government area of the state.

The governor toured the plant, which currently supplies five Local Governments in the state water. During his visit he inspected the plant's facilities. The plant has the capacity to treat 75 million liters of water per day but currently treats only 50 million  liters due to inadequate power supply to the plant.

Ganduje, during the visit, directed the State Ministry of Works to fence the treatment plant, while he also proposed the channeling of pipe from the plant to the main town of Bichi to end decades of lack of access to clean water.

The governor said that his administration will connect the plant to the closest power grid to ensure steady power supply, as it is currently getting it's power from Kankia in Katsina state.
