Two Year Old Severely Malnourished Boy Being Treated By UNICEF

Two year-old Abubakar pictured with his mother, who lives in Kano State, is one of the more than 400,000 children UNICEF has treated for severe acute malnutrition.


Wife of the President, Mrs. Aisha Buhari was so shocked by UNICEF reports that a staggering 2.5 Nigerian children are suffering from severe acute malnutrition that she recently launched an initiative to fight child malnutrition in Nigeria.

 
Mrs. Buhari’s ‘Get Involved’ initiative is looking for the support of ordinary Nigerians and will also be working with the private sector, development partners, non-governmental organizations and UNICEF to help end child malnutrition in the country.
