Several Boko Haram members fleeing the battlefield in the North- East have been arrested in Lagos by the Nigerian military, reports Sun.

The General Officer Commanding, 81 Division Headquarters, Major General Isidore Edet, made this disclosure on Monday evening at the decoration of 12 officers to the ranks of lieutenant-colonel, colonel and brigadier-general.

Edet said the arrested Boko Haram members were among those fleeing the battlefield in Borno, Adamawa and Yobe States and were fleeing down South to continue their nefarious activities.

He said investigations have commenced into the activities of each Boko Haram member and that they were undergoing interrogation to fish out other members of the group.

The Department of State Service (DSS) had on October 24 arrested and charged 45 suspected members of Boko Haram to a Magistrate Court over an alleged plot to attack Lagos.

The suspected Boko Haram members were accused of planning to bomb Dolphin Estate in Ikoyi.
