DSS Raids Dasuki's Residence, Place Him on House Arrest

Category: Nigerian National News

Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) invaded the Asokoro, Abuja residence of the former National Security Adviser (NSA), Sambo Dasuki.

Reports has it that DSS operatives stopped ex-NSA from leaving Nigeria to receive medical treatment in London, United Kingdom.

Dasuki had already been placed under house arrest at his house along John Kadiya close, Asokoro, Abuja.

This is coming less than 48 hours after a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja granted him permission to travel abroad for medical attention.

No official reason was given for the new development by the DSS but one of the operatives said that they were acting on orders from the above.

According to Naij.com, two operational vehicles of the DSS painted black with plate number RSH-590AS and KUJ-510AU were stationed in front of the former NSA’s house. When Naij.com’s correspondent approached one of the stationed vehicles, the DSS operatives who were looking mean said, “….we are just doing our job. You people should not disturb us please”.

A source who is also an associate of the NSA disclosed that the DSS are raiding the residence of the former NSA, Dasuki without giving any sufficient reason.

Dasuki had cancelled his Lufthansa flight to the United Kingdom when he got the news that the SSS had gone to the airport to re-arrest him, Naij.com reported yesterday, November 4.

“They are here again and they have not given any meaningful reason why they should be here. We dont know their intention,” the source told Naij.com.

The source tried going into Dasuki’s house but was refused entry. According to the source, he was asked to identify himself and explain why he wants to go into the building.

“After I had identified myself and explained that I am here on a visit they still refused to let me in. They told me that nobody is allowed to go in and out of the house,” the source disclosed.

Its the second time Dasuki’s house is being raided by the DSS. In July both residences in Abuja and Sokoto were stormed. In both invasions, the operatives thoroughly searched the houses before leaving.

The operation was considered to have been authorized by the top hierarchy of the DSS, in connection with the secret probe into how billions of naira allocated for the war against terrorism was allegedly looted.
