Nigerian Army General, Lt. Col., others arrested over Baga attack

The success of Boko Haram attack on Baga was said to be an unusual one, especially since the attack came just two days after the Nigerian military moved arms and ammunition to Baga to be used against the terror sect. However, the insurgents attacked and took over the arms, which led to losses of lives, ammunition and Baga.

Following the attack, more than ten senior Nigerian Army officers, including a Brigadier-General and a Lt. Col. who were supposed to be in charge of the area during the attack have been arrested and are presently telling the military hierarchy what they know about the Baga attack by the insurgent group, Boko Haram.

According to the Director of Defence Information, Major-General Chris Olukolade, the senior army officers are being investigated for allegedly shirking in their responsibilities during the attack by the militants.
