Abubakar Shekau Is A Disgrace To Islam - Saudi Arabia Muslim Cleric

Many Islamic groups and individuals, even the most notorious terrorist group, Al-Qaeda have condemned activities of the Boko Haram sect, particularly the abduction of over 200 girls and threat to sell off the girls by the Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau.

One of such individuals who have condemned Shekau is head of Saudi Arabia’s top religious authority, the Grand Mufti, Sheikh Abdulaziz Al ash-Sheikh, has joined other Islamic organizations around the world to condemn the activities of the Boko Haram insurgents, describing the leader of the violent sect, Abubakar Shekau, as a misguided disgrace to Islam.

He also said that the sect's activities are not compatible with the dictates of the Muslim faith and the teachings of the Koran, which preaches peace.

Sheikh Abdulaziz Al ash-Sheikh, was reacting to the abduction of female students of the Government Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State, by Boko Haram terrorists, and the attendant efforts to rescue the young girls.

Islamic organizations all over the world, including the world’s most notorious terrorist network, Al-Qaeda, even released a statement that Boko Haram have gone too far this time.

Sheikh Abdulaziz Al ash-Sheikh, in his own statement, condemned Boko Haram as a group set up to smear the image of Islam and dismissed the movement, saying it was misguided and should be shown that it has towed the wrong path.

Hear what he said:

This is a group that has been set up to smear the image of Islam and must be offered advice, shown their wrong path and be made to reject it.

These groups are not on the right path because Islam is against kidnapping, killing and aggression.

Marrying kidnapped girls is not permitted. This is a gross misinterpretation of Islam.
Abubakar Shekau is a misguided disgrace to Islam.

Thank you Grand Mufti. Hope Shekau knows this.
